HIM Coding Manager

HIM Coding Manager Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Coding Team, including Clinical Documentation Integrity and Chargemaster specialists
• Coordinate coding activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of medical coding information
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for Coding, CDI, and Chargemaster operations
• Conduct internal audits, provide education, and resolve complex coding discrepancies

HIM Coding Manager Essential Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Coding Program or degree in Health Information Technology/Administration
• RHIT credential and/or eligibility; CCS or CPC credential preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience managing/supervising coding operations in a healthcare organization
• Proficiency in all code sets and guidelines within a Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital
• Strong understanding of Revenue Cycle and coding workflows in electronic health records
