Hospital Billing Coding Lead

HealthTech Resources is seeking an experienced Hospital Billing Coding Lead for a permanent position with a premier healthcare client in the Reno, Nevada area. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled coder to lead and support a hospital billing team. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for coding escalations and complex coding issues
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations for various patient types
• Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate timely and accurate medical record reviews
• Identify and correctly code Patient Safety Indicators and Hospital Acquired Conditions
• Monitor coding quality and provide feedback to staff and contract coders
• Manage coding-related claim work queues and resolve claim edit errors
• Provide guidance and training to coding staff and clinicians

Essential Qualifications

• CCS, CPC, and/or CIC coding credential required (RHIT will not be accepted)
• Minimum 5-8 years of previous facility coding experience
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines
• Proficiency with Epic and 3M coding systems
• Strong understanding of Medicare, NCCI, and payer-specific guidelines
• Experience with charge review, claim edits, and denial management
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
