EHR Selection Consultant

HealthTECH is seeking an EHR Selection Consultant for a specialized, short-term contract engagement. A Critical Access Hospital (25 beds) currently utilizing both athenahealth and MEDITECH systems is looking to redefine their EHR strategy. We are seeking a knowledgeable Healthcare IT professional to conduct a comprehensive EHR system evaluation, with particular focus on MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS), while ensuring physician satisfaction and workflow optimization. The chosen candidate will serve as a bridge between hospital leadership, clinical staff, and EHR vendors, ensuring that all stakeholder needs are understood and the best solution is secured.

This is a hybrid position located near Indianapolis, IN, with opportunity for partial remote work.

EHR Selection Consultant Primary Responsibilities

• System Evaluation & Analysis – Conduct a comprehensive review of current EHR systems (athenahealth and MEDITECH). Evaluate MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) and other potential solutions. Assess the impact of system changes on physician workflows and satisfaction.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with physicians to understand their current satisfaction with athenahealth and document specific needs. Facilitate communication between hospital leadership, clinical staff, and potential vendors, ensuring all voices are heard in the selection process.
• Physician Engagement – Develop strategies to ensure physician buy-in for recommended solutions. Create comparative analyses demonstrating how new systems can maintain or improve current workflow efficiencies.
• Recommendation Development – Prepare detailed recommendations based on comprehensive analysis, with particular attention to maintaining physician satisfaction while optimizing hospital operations.

EHR Selection Consultant Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Clinical Informatics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience in EHR selection and implementation, particularly in Critical Access Hospital settings
• Strong understanding of both athenahealth and MEDITECH systems
• Experience with MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) implementations preferred
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong focus on physician satisfaction and clinical workflow optimization
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences
• Experience in change management and user adoption strategies
