IT System Administrator

HealthTECH Resources is seeking a IT System Administrator for a contract position in CA. This is a great opportunity to join a world-class team and provide technical expertise to support VMWare, Windows and Storage infrastructure. To be considered for this role you must have 3+ years as a Systems Administrator in a large healthcare IT organization. To reiterate, we are are seeking previous experience working in a healthcare IT environment.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Length of Engagement: Through 12/31/19
  • On-Site Work only (no remote)

IT System Administrator Primary Responsibilities

  • Plans, determines requirements, builds, customizes, tests, implements, maintains, and enhances software and hardware systems.
  • Integrates systems for inter-operability across multiple platforms and technologies; obtains new and upgraded systems from vendors and utilizes tools and develops programs to ensure that new and upgraded systems work effectively with current systems and programs.
  • Provides technical system support to departments, designers, software engineers, and project teams.
  • Implements security policies (e.g., logon, access, dataset security) on server platforms and applications.
  • Monitors system performance and capacity and publishes related reports; uses performance monitoring and capacity planning tools to ensure that systems are performing effectively; monitors the number of problems or incidents reported.
  • Reviews system reports and adjusts system resource thresholds to assure best performance and efficiency of resource utilization.

IT System Administrator Skills and Experience

  • Must have 3+ years as a Systems Administrator in a large healthcare IT organization, with in-depth experience with systems administration in the areas of:
    • Windows Operating Systems
    • VMWare server virtualization
    • VDI
    • Server and Storage HW maintenance
    • SAN, based on Dell/EMC storage array technologies
    • Enterprise security
    • Knowledgeable on collecting metrics, measuring systems performance and troubleshooting systems problems
    • Disaster Recovery and technologies related to data protection (e.g. Spectrum Protect and/or Veeam)
    • Experience with automation and scripting (Powershell scripts)
